image of Tamara Cable (Author, Director, Disability Consultant) for about section

Tamara is a self-started entrepreneur, author, musician, speaker, and disability advocate. Her experiences and expertise cross many fields. She continually challenges the perception of what having a disability means.

Music is the most influential part of her journey. As a professional live and studio musician since the age of 9, her performances have crossed boundaries from classical, to pop/rock, to folk, and continues to evolve. As a music teacher for the last 19 years, she has fostered a passion for engaging young musicians, especially those with physical and cognitive disabilities, to help each develop musicality. She challenges every student’s beliefs of what they are capable

She champions the importance of early intervention for children with disabilities. She believes that having a creative outlet for frustrations is imperative for young people, and doubly so for those who have disabilities. Her personal motto is that everyone has the ability to succeed if given the right tools and opportunities. All you need is creativity, patience, and a willingness to look at problems from a new perspective.

Tamara has been legally blind since birth, and lost the majority of her remaining vision in her early teens. She also has other physical and neurodevelopment disabilities that impact everyday life.
