The Odyssey Project and Odyssey Music pride themselves on making all of our music publications accessible for all. Our standard printed books use size 16-18 pt large print to make reading easier for those with visual impairments and younger readers. We have done our best to reduce as much visual clutter as possible and maintain an engaging educational experience. All activities try to include a multi-sensory approach to learning and multiple ways students can access materials. We also have a number of printing and format options available for our books. If you need a format that is not listed on this page, please reach out to us. We will make every effort to tailor our material to your needs. Please note that while we endeavour to release all of our accessible formats at the same price as our standard printed materials, there may be a slight change in shipping or production costs depending on the format that is required.
Each printed book has an accompanying unabridged narrated version. It includes musical examples (similar to what is found in the audio guide) and descriptions of all diagrams. This book is recommended to be used in conjunction with, or as a supplement to the printed book, but may be used as a stand-alone resource.

Each printed book has been directly translated into UEB (Unified English Braille) for all standard text passages and Music Braille for all musical examples. An effort has been made to provide tactile representations of some visual music concepts, so blind and low vision students can understand some of the shapes and patterns associated with printed music. The transcriber has also added sections to explain new music braille symbols as they appear so you learn music braille concurrently with theory.
We know that most students benefit from full-colour printing, however we also understand that some students need a higher contrast or uncoloured version of this text to succeed. This book is identical to the standard printed version with no coloured elements. It is designed to be high-contrast with black bold printing on a white page. Every monochromatic book is printed to-order, so there may be a slight delay while we process your request.
